No connection is more important for our existence and our well-being.  Water performs many vital functions in our body. Water is irreplaceable as a means of transport and a solvent. Water also performs a major function in the regulation of body temperature.A lack of water not only reduces the physical powers but can, depending on the extent, also lead to serious damage to one’s health. As little as a 4% lack of water in our body system results in a 25% reduction in physiological powers. As such a lack of moisture inevitably has an effect on the skin. The appearance of the skin deteriorates considerably. The first stage is certainly a pale, unhealthy looking skin, the lack of elasticity can lead to chapping and slow-healing wounds later.

Deeply effective and long-lasting improvement in skin hydration

Dew Drops Complex® contains a hydrophilic fraction from Black Oats which has a high level of water-retentive substances. These form a moisture film on the skin and strengthen the skin’s own NMF (Natural Moisturising Factor).  

The phospholipid Lecithin is of plant origin. It stabilises the lamellar lipid matrix of the epidermis to reduce the transepidermal water loss (TEWL). In this way the skin is better protected against evaporation. The hair is coated in Lecithin, protruding scales are sealed and the surface of the hair is smoothed.

The effect of Dew Drops Complex® on skin hydration was tested in an in-vivo study: different concentrations of a gel containing Dew Drops Complex® were applied once to the forearm. Using the Hydrascan® evaluation method, the skin moisture was tested at three different levels of the epidermis over a period of 24 hours. 

At concentrations as low as 1% Dew Drops Complex®, skin moisture in the upper layer of the epidermis increases by up to 6% compared to a placebo with 0% Dew Drops Complex®. The effect depends on the dose: the higher the use concentration, the more sustainable is the improvement in skin moisture. The test concentration of 4% Dew Drops Complex® leads to a constant increase in skin moisture in all layers of the epidermis over a period of 24 hours.

Frequent sunbathing, wind, household work and other environmental influences dry out our skin. As a result, it loses resiliency and vitality, appearing rough and dry. With increasing age, the skin renewal cycle slows down, leading to a more sensitive and thinner skin which requires special protection.
